3 Transitional Looks for Spring

Like everyone else in Philly, I’ve been so over this dreary weather. So, I decided to make this month’s post all about Spring of course!!! I needed to at least convince myself that warm weather is coming. I am so excited for warm sun on my skin, pretty blues skies, blooming flowers, and that slight breeze in the air. I’m even more excited for the way all of those things inspire my art and to wear all of the Spring clothes I’ve been stocking up on. These are all pretty minimalistic outfits in neutral colors because that is all I’ve been doing lately. All of these outfits are ones that can be worn on those warm days that we’re yearning for as well as on these colder, bleaker days with a quick layer of a turtleneck underneath or a denim jacket thrown on top. I would also pair every single one of these outfits with a vintage wicker bag, something I’m currently hunting for like crazy because I am the pickiest gal ever and I want the perfect one.

menswear inspired

The first look is a white oversized button up, a pair of tan trousers from the men’s section (the place where all of the hidden gems are), some gold jewelry, and plain black mules. I love the way the pants hug my curves and the oversized button up gives them the contrast they need. This is the perfect look to wear to class or out to coffee with friends on breaks. The long gold pendant gives it the Parisian vibe that I always strive to go for. The menswear inspired look is something that I love seeing women rock and own in their own ways, especially in the Spring.

Vintage with a modern twist

The next outfit was my favorite of the three. It consisted of these tan flared pants that seriously could be the next “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” pants. They fit so well, clinging in all of the right places. They would accentuate any body type who would wear them. I paired it with a black top with a square neckline that I already had, but they would be perfect with any blac shirt or bodysuit. I also wore black booties, gold jewelry, and 90’s inspired sunglasses. This is the perfect outfit out walking around somewhere like shopping in the city or on the beach and boardwalk (can you tell I’m ready for the warm weather yet?). I can even imagine myself wearing this to a little kickback with friends since it was so comfortable. I had fun mixing vintage vibes with little modern twists in this outfit. If it had to be layered, I would definitely put my favorite denim jacket over the top of it.

breezy day

The last outfit was the favorite of everyone who passed by me during this photoshoot (we did the whole thing inside of one of my school’s buildings LOL). I got at least three compliments on this dress in the first ten minutes of shooting. It’s the most beautiful wrap dress that can be worn on or off the shoulder. The neutral colored print was a cool way for me to stick to my color scheme – or lack thereof – while still having fun. I paired it with basic sandal heels, sunglasses with wooden frames and gold details, and the same gold jewelry. This look could be a brunch outfit or even be worn on a date. It would be easy to throw a cute denim jacket over the top on a breezier day too. I loved the way that you can show a little more by wearing it off the shoulder to feel a little sexier or wrap it up tighter and be completely covered on the top.

Hopefully warmer weather is in our near future ladies and gents. Until then, keep on keepin’ on.
