Colder Spring Days
Colder Spring Days
Sadly, this Spring has been pretty cold. All of the cute Spring outfits I had planned need a good, thick coat to layer on top. Luckily, the Urban Exchange Project always has the coolest vintage pieces that work with everything. I bought this vintage Donnybrook coat there for only $50, which is a steal for the brand that was extremely popular in the 80s and sadly no longer manufactures anything. The brand is also a favorite of Rihanna, which is always a plus when it comes to anything in the fashion world. It’s the most beautiful piece I think I own. It’s a rich chestnut brown color which pleated details in the sleeves and big black buttons. The collar of the coat is rounded and not too big for my short frame. It goes with pretty much anything in my neutral colored wardrobe.
I recently wore it out with my best friend and photographer, Sabrina Hamiti. We spent to day walking around the city, going to her favorite restaurant, and ending up at the art museum. We ended up doing a mini impromptu photoshoot at the museum which come out really awesome since we got to play around with a lot of different lighting, colors, and textures.
I wore the Donnybrook coat with a basic black turtleneck, mom jeans with a seaming detail down the middle of the legs, black booties, and a white mini backpack. I also had some awesome mini cat eye sunglasses that make me feel like the sassiest version of myself.
This was one of those outfits where you step outside and you just feel like this whole version of yourself. You feel like what you’re wearing is reflecting exactly who you are to people and you just feel like you look good. You give off the lightness and good energy when you feel like that in an outfit. I love fashion for this reason and I live for those moments where you feel that burst of confidence and positive energy as you show off the best version of yourself.
